Title
A spot weld Robot cell, with human interaction required to load the automotive raw part on a jig, Robot was required to come in and weld on a part where the operator loads the part. Safety was a big concern, the robot should not be powered on at all when the operator is near to robot's work envelope. That's the time when the light curtain Requirement comes into play!!

Safety-wise Incredible. Keyence GL-R series has many models based on the requirement. we had it use the RF series.
with the close detection capability It worked very well in our application. With the minimal dead zone, there is no way it would not detect an object on its way.
Really Easy and simple integration, input can be hard-coded directly with safety devices.
Mounting brackets are available in different options and are also easy to adjust.
It comes with IP67 Protection, long durability is there. Extra protection cover is also available for lenses.
The sensor on the bottom clearly shows the states if something's blocking and not adjusted properly.
Con
Nothing much to add here. But it was really hard to align the transmitter and receiver in our application. We did not have an alignment tool purchased with these Saftey curtains.
Sometimes takes an hr to just align, but again it depends on the application.
