Easy to use, faster and safer
Pro
I used Doosan robot for palletizing & pick n place operations. We were trying to use it as a option for other industrial robot as this robot can be worked with human. It is faster and easy to use as well as safer for using it with humans around.
Con
Controller is quite trickier than UR.

Title
I was one of the first integrators and developer of Doosan cobots for welding
Pro
1) Good torque sensors which make it possible to create a weld that is equally good or better than what a human can do. Of course industrial robots can make even better welds, but industrial robot welding projects are 350k Australian Dollars or above versus 100k Australian Dollars for cobot welding projects. The reason for the high cost of industrial robot welding projects is that industrial robots need flooring, cages, training,… 2) The user interface is nice and easy to use
Con
1) Doosan’s market presence is not as high as some of the competitors, so the ecosystem of third parties is not as big. Integrating with a welding torch was very hard. If I were to use a cobot again for a welding project I would go to a company that provides a complete solution. 2) A bit more expensive than the average cobot, however Doosan launched the A Series which are less expensive.

Cobot Palletizing Optimal Applications & 3D I&A Cobot Pick & Place Application
Pro
Before the H series existence, I used to work with the M1013 & M0617 for a palletizing optimal algorithm developpement and the M1509 cobot for a 3D vision Pick & Place application. Honestly, even if Doosan has not been in the market for a long period as other brands, their cobots have a very high performance. You may perceive a very good quality construction, very good technical support, advanced cobot functions and a very reliable brand. It is a very easy to use this cobot for people with and without experience in robotics. Easy interface, confortable use and a reliable cobot for many applications where humans may interact. - You can use easy programming blocks, using the cockpit (good answer from human mouvement changes, so good inverse kinematics behavior) or programming in DRL (a language similar to python) for your applications. For more expert users, the DART software (Before it was DRCT/DRST) offers an unique experience with an IDE similar to other algorith programming SW. However, you may not have realtime code syntax correction ... so you may lose time if you need to compile your code (maybe Doosan has already solved it). - The user can adjust the sensor limits in order to modify the collaborative parameters. (Very sensible torque sensors in the 6 robot joints). - Zones' configuration is available : "Mute" for purely industrial robot behavior, "Collaborative" for robot-human interaction, "Work" for cobot operation far from the user, "Forbidden" to avoid the robot crossing that zone. - Tool TCP configuration to avoid big reorientations (for example, using screwing tools). - The repetability of the robot is good, no vibrations. - You don't need to pay for some "options" as for example the communication brick. Other brands may ask you to pay for adding a comm. card. In this robot, classical communication ways are already added (i.e. Mobus, profinet ...). - Updating of the cobot is free. You don't need to pay for new options available. - Double I/O port in the cockpit, that's an advantage for some applications. - It's very easy interface allows anyone to use the robot, you may not be blocked if you have not been formed in this cobot. - It's a brand with an increasing "openmind" integration. For example, is it compatible with ROS, and it is starting to provide information in an easier way to users. So, it might be a good cobot for both industrial & academic purposes.
Con
- The compatibility of this brand is still developping. HOWEVER, Doosan technical service is very receptive to solve this. - There is not enough information in internet and you may need to spend more time solving issues by yourself. Sometimes having technical support means contacting the direct Doosan Headquarters in S. Korea. Other brands offer open blogs with experts to help you solve your questions and issues faster. Doosan is already working in this part. - Not enough DRL libraries for more powerful applications. - Screen interface programming not available. Other brands allow to create your own APP with your own interface.

Title
I have been working with Doosan cobots for 5 years. The easy of programming, safety, and support are very good. The compatibility with other products can be improved.
Pro
I have been working with Doosan cobots for 5 years. I have done multiple applications with both the M Series and A Series. My job is to find applications where technology can be implemented. I usually start playing around with the cobots to figure out if an application will work. I use the cockpit on the cobot to do that. Once I have a good understanding of how to tackle the application with the cobot, an external integrator does the final programming to make sure that everything works perfectly when going in production. 1) Ease of programming There are 2 or 3 ways to program the cobot. The cockpit on the cobot makes it easy to teach the cobot what to do by moving the cobot to the different points and click on the cockpit. You don’t need a PC or programming knowledge. You can make really interesting projects with just some function blocks on a tablet and it is really easy to understand. The parameters are really simple. And when you have experience you can take it to the next level by writing some python code. I start to do this sometimes, but as I don’t have a lot of time, I leave this to the integrators. Before the cobot, I worked with industrial robots, but we wanted to change because the programming is closed for us. You can’t make any changes. It’s difficult to easily make new programs. It took us a lot of time and money to program. We think cobots are really interesting because you can move the cobot in the lab for different applications. Many sequences we programmed on the cobot, we could reuse for other applications. Cobots make me more autonomous, because I can make small tests when searching for good applications. We use cobots often together with 10 different technologies (barcode scanners, machine vision,…). On the cobot we can plug electronics, without the need for electric armory. You have input / output analogy, numeric input/output to automate and feed the cobot. 2) Safety and sensitivity In our company, safety is a sensitive topic. In the lab are a lot of people. Doosan is one of the best brands when it comes to safety, especially the M Series. You can manage the safety areas (critical, collaborative area,…) yourself on the tablet. The force is automatically limited to your preferences. It is really easy. Every motor in the cobot has sensors and the sensitivity is really good. It stops when it touches something slightly. We use an additional safety system. We have a 2D safety curtain scanner integrated with the cobot. In 5 years of working with cobots, we never had one incident related to safety. The sensitivity of the cobot is not only helpful for safety, but for the applications themselves. We have an application where we test hair dyes. It is a very labor intensive process where a lot of wigs are dyed to test the paints. Every skull has a different shape so we need a system that can ‘feel’ the shape and is sensitive enough. The cobot brought this fine movements. 3) Support We have a very close relationship with Doosan. We have been working with them from the start. They have always been very reactive when we had issues, for example with motors that needed recalibration after an update. Because of their very fast feature releases, sometimes there were some stability issues. Doosan always supported us the day itself or a day later. 4) Training material Doosan has a website with training material which is of high quality.
Con
1) Compatibility As Doosan is still a younger brand, they don’t have all brands of compatible products integrated. For example the grippers of the brand Onrobot. We need a different software for programming the gripper. Doosan has a little catching up to do compared to other brands.

Beautiful robot, easy to pilot and has great workspace customization
Pro
The cockpit buttons allow very easy movement and programing of coodinates. Collision Reactive Stop and nudge feature very useful, to resume the program with a gentle nudge after easily removing obstruction. Where other robots would hold obstruction in place, requiring teach pendant recovery to move robot and then resume task. Virtual safety/workspace zones are easy to implement so that the robot can perform with different speeds etc in certain areas.
Con
Setup of safety parameters requires explicit manual input made by integrator, other robots have guided prompts to select the conditions expected and automatically configures safety limits. Documentation of advanced programming tasks could be difficult to understand.
