Using the Stereolabs ZED Mini for 3D Scanning and Mapping Applications
Pro
The compact size of the camera made it easy to mount on our robotic system, and its ability to capture both RGB and depth information allowed us to perform accurate object detection and tracking. We were able to quickly generate a point cloud of our environment, which helped us to better understand our robot's surroundings.
Con
The camera's range of vision is narrower than some other depth-sensing cameras on the market, which can be a disadvantage in certain applications. The camera may struggle in low-light conditions, which could limit its usefulness in some environments.

Used for research purposes for immersive teleoperation of robotic avatars.
Pro
Compact sensor and not too expensive. The RGB images quality is good enough for creating an immersive teleoperation experience. It is ROS-compatible.
Con
Requires CUDA to work (it might not be straightforward to install it). It has a USB-C connector, but only one orientation works. The quality of the depth map could be improved to make the sensor suitable for a wider range of robotic applications.
