Testimonial
In our automotive manufacturing plant, we use the KEYENCE Vision Sensor - IV series to inspect each part of the car as it moves along the assembly line. This advanced sensor uses computer vision technology to visually inspect the surface of each part, checking for defects such as scratches, cracks, or blemishes. I've found that the IV series is incredibly helpful for ensuring that all of our parts meet our strict quality standards. With its advanced computer vision technology, we can quickly and accurately identify any defects in the parts as they move down the assembly line. One thing I really appreciate about the IV series is its ease of use. Even though I'm not a technical expert, I was able to learn how to operate it quickly and effectively. This has saved us time and money on training, and has made it easier for us to use the sensor on a daily basis. In my experience using the IV series, I've found that it can be really frustrating to deal with lighting issues. Sometimes it feels like the sensor is almost too sensitive, and even small changes in lighting or shadows can throw it off. It can be a real headache to constantly adjust the lighting conditions and make sure everything is just right, especially when we're trying to meet production targets.

Title
I had the opportunity to use the KEYENCE Vision Sensor - IV series for a client who was looking to automate the inspection process in their production line. The vision sensor was able to accurately detect defects on the surface of their products, allowing them to quickly identify and remove any faulty items. One of the biggest advantages of this product was its ease of use and setup, as the sensor's intuitive interface made it easy to configure and customize to the client's specific needs.
Pro
One of the things I found most helpful about this product was its ease of use. The IV series has a user-friendly interface that made it easy to set up the inspection parameters and get started with the inspection process. It also has a range of built-in tools for analyzing and visualizing the inspection results, which made it easier for us to identify and troubleshoot any issues that came up.
Con
One issue we encountered was that the sensor had difficulty detecting certain types of defects, particularly those that were very small or subtle. This required us to make adjustments to the inspection parameters and sometimes even perform additional inspections using other methods.

Title
We use IV series vision sensors for multiple reasons. For example, the IV-2 is used to detect various gap defects, welds that are “missing”, weld defects, missing nuts and part identification.
Pro
The software is very user friendly which makes it easy to learn. Also, the interface is very similar to other Keyence products which helps with the learning curve.
Con
The focus / zoom is not as powerful as I would expect it should be in 2022. This causes issues during setup but nothing that can’t worked around.

Title
We had it used in our robot cell, we had an application where it was require to check the part is present or not in EOAT of robot, since we had a too many parts in EOAT, which was not being sensed by just a part present sensor, we decided to implement This Keyence vision Sensor.
Pro
Range was quite impressive, we did capture all the parts in master image. Teaching is also easy and smooth in software, We did around three patents to get the result. Third party integration is also simple, we can just configure it in the software, and can easily get that signals in PLC via Ethernet. Documentation is quite impressive, you could know everything you want to get it up and running. Also Cost effective product, if you are in the situation where you just want to check the presence and fee other stuff.
Con
Limited functionality as compared to other vision sensor in market, Limited patent option. Image processing is quite a bit slow, however trigger speed is configurable. Limited IO signals via Ethernet option, could be more. But it depends on the application.since the application is not about specific quality then it is not a concern!!

Title
For checking parts are correctly implemented.
Pro
Very easy to touch and implemented in our system. Good documentation quality.
Con
No webview is supported. Only Active X can use for controlling/using parameters from 3rd member systems.
