Pick and place system Based On Linear motion technology
Title
We had an application in which we had parts coming up on the pallet, this gripper were attached to our Servo pick and place system for Pick and place operation. We had an in-house custom-built gripper before just based on pneumatics. We had it broken finger many times on that gripper and finally, we needed an electro-magnetic switch gripper for the pick and place operation.
Pro
Slim Body makes really usable for our application, we had it used four grippers in parallel to pick up and place four parts at the same time. The Design is really compatible with our application. Aluminum body material makes it a more stable grip and almost non-breakable operation. Centering gripping and OD gripping are much more reliable with this gripper. in our application, we had plastic parts that need to be picked up by outer diameter and at the center. Easy to integrate with the application we had except mount. This gripper has a great gripping force which can be more beneficial in an application where pressure drop occurs more frequently and doesn't want to drop the part. We had a SWG12 Model for our application and did not have to replace the gripper once in last year. Running really great for 1 year.
Con
Mounting the gripper was not easy, we needed a custom-built mount for this gripper as we had four grippers used in the same tooling. Will need a solenoid valve for open and close operation.
