Title
The first robot unloads from two lanes of cut product onto a single, central conveyor, while orientating each part. The next two robots use vision guided line tracking to pick and place the product into a roll-stock packaging machine. The Food & Dairy washdown environment (caustic high-pressure water) required for direct handling of open product. Robots must integrate well with the vision system, safety system, and packaging machine. Ease of operation and maintenance needs are addressed by the design/layout of the cells.
Pro
The Stäubli SRS 3D design environment reduced programming, validation, and commissioning time. The programming language (VAL3) is easy to understand and yet powerful when needed. The controller is able to communicate with many common fieldbus protocols.
Con
Pendant programming is good for small changes, but not optimized for the main input of logic.

Title
Use of STÄUBLI TX2 40 robotic arm for moving parts of different colors to specific places for each color using the Cognex IS2000-130C industrial vision, then putting the whole chain on multi-storey industrial shelves trying to optimize the movements of the cobot's 6 joints as much as possible.
Pro
Its programming language VAL 3 being close to the C language is really easy to use. This robotic arm has a cable outlet under the foot allowing optimal protection of connections in sensitive environments. It is easy to integrate a machine vision system (e.g. a cognex camera) to use STÄUBLI TX2 40.
Con
I find that on the documentation side there are improvements to be made. Compared to the YASKAWA HC10DTP that I used previously, I quickly noticed a lack of manufacturer's instructions for the STÄUBLI TX2 40.

Title
Used the robotic arm in a large sequencing system at a drug discovery company. Would move plates from one instrument to another. We needed an arm that could reach below the deck so we went with this system rather than a Scara which is more common in biotch applications.
Pro
System was reliable and had a long reach. The flexibility to reach under our deck was great.
Con
Really tough to teach compared to current cobots. Overkill for biotech applications which are just moving small plates which weigh next to nothing.

Title
Maintenance manager
Pro
Good service in Poland, client focused managment, fast spare parts delivery.
Con
very soft and not rugged wrist- you need proper implementation, bad power supply in first versions- later exchanged fre of charge.
