Photocell barriers include a number of different infrared rays aligned along both a transmitter and a receiver bar. It is enough that one of the infrared streams is interrupted to detect an infiltration in the dangerous working area which leads to an immediate close-off of the output safety contactors connected to the machinery emergency stop.

The safety photocell barriers form a barrier of parallel infrared streams which are activated one after the other according to a multiplex process and a high scanning speed. A specific stream acts as a synchroniser.

The standard height of the guard depends on the number of infrared streams and the distance of the lenses.

Immaterial barrier resolutions allow to detect fingers, hands, limbs or approaching bodies. Resolutions are defined according to the type of machinery which needs guarding, the working area and the level of safety required.

Access' immaterial barriers are integrated to the guard fencing systems and are selected among the best components available on the market for that particular application and safety level requirement according to UNI EN 62061 standards.

By the modular construction protection heights of 100mm to 1900mm are realizable. Special sizes are also available. If an object is in the protection field, i.e. it is darkened at least one of the beams, the two outputs of the receiver interrupt the dangerous movement of the machine, or prevent a start. A renewed start of the machine is in the operating mode with restart only possible by pressing the start push-button during a free protection field. Several LED at the receiver display thereby the respective operating condition. The system detects an internal or external error the machine is immediately switched off and the LED in the transmitter or in the receiver shows by flashing the error status.

The safety light curtains TLVT consist of the two components: transmitter and receiver. The distance between both components and the overall height result in those protection width and - height. Transmitter and receivers operate synchronously, i.e. at the same point in time only a light beam and a reception item are active. The synchronisation is made by the first light beam and the first reception item. Between transmitter and receivers therefore no electrical connection is necessary. The transmitter creates infrared light beams, which are switched on and off rapidly successively. The parallel light beams with a distance from 7,5mm are controlled by two a chip micro controllers. A resolution of 14mm is realised by the beam distance. Synchronously to the light beams of the transmitter in the receiver all reception items are analysed by two a chip micro controllers. The transmitter generates infra-red light beams flashing at high speed in synchronous action. The parallel light beams with a spacing of 7,5mm or 14,3mm are monitored by miocro-controllers. The receiver evaluated the arriving beams in synchronous action to the transmitter. Due to the closeness of the beams, a resolution of 14 mm / 30 mm is achieved. If an obstacle is placed into the protective field, i.e. at least iner lieght beam is interrupted, the hazardous movement of the machine is stopped, i.e. a new start is not possible.

Conventional light curtains had dead zone where there are no beam axis at both ends. With SE4D the first beam axis placed right along the edges, detection can be performed along the entire area. Up to 3 sets (emitter/receiver) can be connected in series to cover L or U shaped configurations, or to guard both the front and back of a machine.SE4D light curtain is equipped with a muting control function that causes a line to stop only when a person passes through the light curtain, but does not stop the line when an object passes through. The muting sensor and muting lamp can be directly connected to the light curtain. A special controller for muting is not required thus reducing cost.Fixed blanking prevents the control output (OSSD1/2) from turning off when a specific beam is interrupted. This is used in applications where a specific beam is always interrupted. When the object is moved outside of the sensing area, the control output (OSSD1/2) turns off. Floating blanking function prevents the control output (OSSD1/2) from turning off when the number of beams interrupted is less than a preset number. The number that can be set is from 1 to 3 beams. This function enables sensing even when the position of the obstacles changes in the sensing area.
